Concept Land Design is "committed to excellence", providing award winning landscape contracting services with honesty and integrity to St. Thomas, London and region since 1989. Our goal is to apply innovative design, distinction and diversity to Commercial, Industrial and Residential customers in the areas of Landscape Design/Build, and Construction Services.

The principle owners are John & Karina Macfarlane. The concept of the enterprise evolved from its birth as a strictly Design/Build firm, to its present status as one of the premier full-service and award winning Landscape Contractors in the area.
John is a graduate of Fanshawe College's prestigious Landscape Design program. This "three year plus co-op" program is one of the most highly recognized programs in the industry. He brings with him over 2 decades of experience in the landscaping field. He is responsible for the firm's design and implementation process, customer consultations, estimating and contract negotiations, staff supervision and training, and general management.
Karina, also a graduate of Fanshawe College, heads the administrative and marketing end of the business, including all aspects of Accounting, Budgeting, Advertising/Marketing and Contract Development Technology.
The Partners proudly accepted the "1999 OACDC Entrepreneur of the Year" award. Each partner brings with them a highly complimentary background in education and experience. Working together through 15 years of co-ownership, the enterprise has evolved into a dynamic industry leader.
OUR STAFF
The firms stringent Employee Selection Criteria ensure that all of the staff are highly qualified professionals in the Horticultural Industry. Crew Leaders possess Horticultural and/or Landscape Design Diplomas, and each staff member is expected to improve their knowledge in the field. Courses, workshops and Certification are offered through our industry trades association, Landscape Ontario, and staff are strongly encouraged to upgrade their skills.
Each season, Concept Land Design participates in Community College Co-op Programs to give students enrolled in Landscape Design and Horticultural Technician programs the opportunity to gain experience in their trade.
Our Qualified Staff under the supervision of our Management Team boast a wide variety of industrial, residential and commercial projects. A number of our projects have been recognized as "Awards of Excellence" winners through our industry trade association, Landscape Ontario.
